Tennessee freshman Katrina Scott competed in the US Open qualifiers Tuesday at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York.
She lost to Katie Swan, 6-3, 6-1, on Court 17. Scott, a native of Los Angeles, California, won 35 total points, including 22 service points. She won 95 percent of her first service points and won 50 percent second service points. Scott committed one double fault.
She earned a wild card qualifying berth by advancing to the singles final of the USTA American Collegiate Wildcard Playoffs. Scott defeated Ohio State'sLuciana Perry, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
She played for the Lady Vols during the 2026 spring dual season and had a singles record of 5-4 and a 6-4 doubles record. Scott was also named a First-Team All-American
and SEC Player of the Week on April 14.
When she arrived at Tennessee, Scott was ranked No. 312 in WTA singles and No. 1,034 in doubles. Her career-high in singles was No. 149 and No. 552 in doubles.
Scott has competed in all four grand slams, including the second round of the 2020 US Open main draw at 16. She has won four professional singles championships and one doubles title.
