Detroit announced roster transactions on Wednesday ahead of the NFL regular season. The Lions waived running back Jabari Small and center Seth McLaughlin.
On Tuesday, Detroit signed tight end Tyler Conklin and placed running back Isiah Pacheco on reserve/injured, while also signing guard Elijah Klein and wide receiver Dominic Lovett to its practice squad.
Small played at Tennessee from 2020-23. He appeared in 45 games, including 24 starts, for the Vols. Small recorded 2,122 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns on 419 attempts, while totaling 32 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
Detroit also signed defensive lineman and former Vol Tyre West to its NFL practice squad on Monday. He was waived by the Lions on Sunday following the preseason.
Detroit
will kick off its NFL regular season on Sept. 13 versus New Orleans. The season opener between the Lions and Saints is slated for 1 p.m. EDT at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan (Fox).
