Cleveland placed running back Dylan Sampson (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday after Week 1 of the 2026 NFL regular season.

The Browns signed running back Jaleel McLaughlin to their active roster from the practice squad.

Cleveland also signed running back Eric Gray, offensive tackle Obinna Eze, punter Wes Pahl and offensive tackle Xavier Truss to its practice squad, while releasing cornerback D'Angelo Ross and defensive tackle Chris Williams from the practice squad.

Sampson appeared in 35 games for the Vols from 2022-24. He recorded 2,492 rushing yards, 35 rushing touchdowns, 40 receptions, 342 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown and 28 kick return yards.

Sampson set the following single-season program records at Tennessee: total touchdowns

scored (22), points scored (132), rushing yards (1,491) and consecutive games with a rushing touchdown (11).

Gray played at Tennessee from 2019-20 and transferred to Oklahoma. He appeared in 22 games for the Vols and totaled 1,311 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 43 receptions, 369 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns and 47 punt returns.
