No. 14 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC) will host No. 7 Alabama (5-1, 3-1 SEC) on Saturday in Week 7 of the 2026 football season.
Kickoff between the Vols and Crimson Tide is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Neyland Stadium (ABC).
Saturday's game will mark a return to Knoxville for former Tennessee Director of Player Personnel Bob Welton. He worked for the Vols from 2013-17 under head coach Butch Jones.
Welton is serving in the same capacity at Alabama. He has served as the Crimson Tide's Director of Player Development under head coaches Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer since 2018.
Welton oversees the organization of all recruiting efforts for Alabama. He also works closely with compliance regarding initial eligibility and assists with coaching clinics, camps and numerous
other on-campus events.
Prior to Tennessee, Welton worked in the NFL with Cleveland, serving as a college scout for the Browns from 2004-13.
He began his coaching career as a high school coach from 1997-2003. Welton guided Coloma High School in Coloma, Michigan to an undefeated season and a first playoff victory in school history.
