Phoenix (14-26) defeated Toronto (11-29), 101-69, on Aug. 29 at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona. 11,699 were in attendance for both team's final WNBA game before the league's break for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Two former Lady Vols appeared in the contest.
Isabelle Harrison started for the Tempo and led all scorers with 16 points in 27 minutes. She converted 5-of-15 field goal attempts and 6-of-7 free throw attempts. Harrison also recorded a double-double, finishing the contest with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Marta Suarez played 17 minutes for the Mercury after being listed as questionable and in concussion protocol ahead of the game. She scored 13 points and converted 5-of-8 field goal attempts,
1-of-2 three-point attempts and 2-of-3 free throw attempts. Suarez also totaled three rebounds and one block.
The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup break will take place Monday through Sept. 16. The WNBA regular season will resume Sept. 17.
Harrison was at Tennessee from 2011-15, while Suarez played for the Lady Vols from 2020-23.
