Kansas City will play its second NFL preseason game on Saturday at Tampa Bay. Kickoff between the Chiefs and Buccaneers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Kansas City held a tryout for three players on Wednesday, including former Tennessee offensive lineman John Campbell Jr., according to NFL transactions.
Offensive lineman Kellen Diesch (Arizona State) and linebacker Cam Jones (Indiana) also worked out with the Chiefs.
Campbell Jr. played for the Vols from 2023-24 after transferring from Miami. He appeared in 22 games, including 22 starts.
In 2024, Campbell Jr. started 13 games at right tackle and played 500 offensive snaps. He started nine games at left tackle and played 538 offensive snaps in 2023, earning
SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors on Oct. 30, 2023.
Campbell Jr. played for the Hurricanes from 2018-22. He is from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida.
