Houston signed defensive tackle Dominic Bailey to its practice squad on Monday. He was waived by the Texans following a 53-man roster cut deadline on Sunday.

Bailey played at Tennessee from 2020-25. He appeared in 55 games, including 25 starts, for the Vols.

Bailey recorded 77 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, one pass deflection, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries during his collegiate career.

Houston concluded its NFL preseason without winning a game, losing to the Chargers, Raiders and Panthers.

The Texans will kick off their regular season Sept. 13 against Buffalo. The season opener is slated for 1 p.m. EDT at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas (CBS).
