Former Tennessee defensive back Jalen McMurray was assigned to the Titans' practice squad on Aug. 31 ahead of the NFL regular season.

He signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent following the NFL draft in April.

McMurray changed jersey numbers on Friday. He switched from No. 16 to No. 47. Tennessee defensive back Tony Adams also changed from No. 38 to No. 29, while wide receiver K.J. Osborn switched from No. 85 to No. 8.

McMurray played for the Vols from 2024-25. He appeared in 26 games, including 10 starts. In his two seasons at Tennessee, McMurray totaled 70 tackles, six tackles for a loss, two sacks, nine pass breakups and two quarterback hurries.

He transferred to Tennessee from Temple. In three seasons with the Owls, he appeared in

27 games (23 starts).

Tennessee will open its 2026 NFL regular season against the Jets on Sept. 13. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. EDT at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee (CBS).
