Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2028 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star running back Jayshawn Mitchell.
"After a great conversation with Aaron Pittard, I'm blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee," Mitchell announced.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect is from Brennan High School in San Antonio, Texas. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 7 running back in the class and No. 16 player from Texas.
UTSA was the first school to offer Mitchell a scholarship on Jan. 29. Other Power Four schools to offer him scholarships include Purdue, TCU, Baylor, SMU, Kansas State, California, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Oregon, Notre Dame, Penn State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Ole
Miss, Alabama, Kansas, Michigan, Stanford, Florida, Missouri and Georgia.
Florida, Missouri, Georgia and the Vols have offered the 2028 prospect from the SEC in September.
Quarterback Kaden Craft is the only commitment in Tennessee’s 2028 football recruiting class.
