The Lady Vols led the Catamounts, 2-0, at halftime. Tennessee recorded its third consecutive shutout during the 2026 season.
The Lady Vols led, 1-0, in the first minute of the match after Kylee Simmonsconverted a penalty kick.
Tennessee extended its advantage to 2-0, after Shae O' Rourkescored in the 11th minute. Milee Zych and Ines Derrien were each credited with an assist on the second goal of the match.
Forward Jayla Blue scored for Tennessee in the 69th minute. Zych was credited with an assist on the goal.
Olivia Feagin scored the final goal in the 85th minute for Tennessee and Kai Tsakiris recorded an assist.
Tennessee junior goalkeeper Cayden Norris
recorded a clean sheet as the Catamounts recorded one shot.
The Lady Vols outshot Western Carolina, 33-1, with 16 of Tennessee's scoring opportunities on target. The Lady Vols also totaled 10 corner kicks in the game.
Tennessee will next play on Sept. 3 at Virginia. Kickoff between the Lady Vols and Cavaliers is slated for 7 p.m. EDT in Charlottesville, Virginia (ACC Network Extra).
