In terms of rankings, Michigan football has long been hanging by a thread. After opening as the No. 16 in the preseason, the Wolverines fell after a controversial Week 1 finish against Western Michigan. It climbed to No. 18 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, but after losing to No. 17 Iowa on the final play of the game in Week 4, how much would the coaches penalize the maize and blue?
As it turns out, a lot.
In the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, Michigan football moved down to No. 24. Iowa is now ranked No. 14. The Wolverines still have to face No. 22 Penn State, No. 5 Indiana, No. 15 Oregon, and No. 6 Ohio State.
