Michigan football just benched the former No. 1 overall recruit, top-rated quarterback, and five-star in the 2025 class, Bryce Underwood. But a 2028 prospect doesn't appear to be scared of the Wolverines, despite that.
Despite having been committed to Georgia since Nov. 2025, 2028 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star quarterback Jayden Wade is considering following in a fellow former IMG quarterback's footsteps and coming to Ann Arbor. J.J. McCarthy hailed from the same school, via Nazareth Academy in Illinois, and Wade now leads the program and is the No. 4 player in the country and top signal-caller nationally.
But according to 247Sports, Wade will be making his way to Ann Arbor for the Michigan football game against Indiana.
NEW: Georgia's
grip on 5-star 2028 QB Jayden Wade is being tested. The No. 1 QB in the country is set to visit Michigan this weekend, a source tells @247Sports. Intel: https://t.co/E0Mf1oGC4y pic.twitter.com/adFr5UaVJ4

Here is the scouting report via Andrew Ivins, who says he has a similar skill set to former MSU and current Northwestern QB Aidan Chiles:
-Dynamic, dual-threat talent with a best-in-class testing profile that shines as a deep-ball passer.-Tracking to exit IMG Academy as a three-year starter where he won his first 16 starts while coordinating a single-back, power attack heavy on both the pistol and under-center looks.-Rather clean from a mechanical standpoint with his rapid drops.-Wants to attack defenses vertically and can drive the football 50+ yards through the air.-A bit streaky at times when targeting the shorter parts of the field, but will serve up tight spirals when he finds a rhythm and has proven to be efficient working off play-action.-Constantly extending plays with his legs and can pick up big chunks of yardage when he exits the pocket.-Must continue to get better at all little things that come with being a high-level distributor, but has an extremely high ceiling with his physical gifts.
It will be interesting to see if Michigan can make a move, again, in large part due to the narrative of what's happening with Underwood.
The Wolverines have a dynamic quarterback committed to the 2027 class in Kamden Lopati, but do not have one in 2028. Wade is listed at 6-foot-4, 192 pounds.
