There had been some concern about Michigan football losing the Texas game next season, as the Eastern Michigan game slated for Week 3 had been moved up to the same date that the Longhorns were in previously. However, as it turns out, everything was being moved up a week, with Week 0 now becoming Week 1.
In an official announcement by the Wolverines, the season opener against Buffalo will take place on August 28, the road game at Texas will be September 4, and the home game against Eastern Michigan will be September 11. The road trip to Austin will conclude the home-and-home, which initially began in 2024, when UT came to Ann Arbor.

Michigan will still have
quite a brutal schedule, with not only the road game at Texas, but also road games at Iowa, Penn State, and Indiana, while Oregon and Ohio State come to The Big House.
