Rajah Caruth enters Las Vegas in the most difficult points position among the 12 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase drivers. Caruth sits 12th with 2,071 points, leaving him 164 points behind championship leader Sheldon Creed after three postseason races.
Caruth finished 23rd at Bristol, continuing a Chase in which the Jordan Anderson Racing driver has struggled to remain connected to the leaders. The deficit to 11th-place Brandon Jones is already 50 points, while fifth-place Sam Mayer sits 86 markers ahead. With six races remaining, Caruth needs significant points swings to climb back through the standings.
His first Las Vegas appearance of the season produced a 19th-place finish and 18 points. Caruth completed all 200 laps but finished more than
30 seconds behind the winner. Saturday’s return visit carries considerably greater stakes. Stage points, a top-10 finish and trouble for drivers ahead would all materially improve a championship position that currently leaves little margin for another poor race.
