Christopher Bell remained near the front throughout Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 and left Kansas Speedway with another solid Chase result. Bell started third and maintained top-five pace for much of the afternoon.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver finished fifth in both stages, collecting 12 stage points before ultimately slipping to sixth during the final run. Bell crossed the finish line less than three seconds behind Kyle Larson and earned 43 total points, fourth-most in the race.
Bell remains third in the Chase standings with 2,232 points, 50 behind Larson and 24 behind Denny Hamlin. While he did not match Larson’s dominant 76-point performance, Bell avoided the type of poor result that could have seriously damaged his title hopes. With six races
remaining, he remains one of only three drivers within 50 points of the championship lead.
