Tyler Ankrum is officially below the Chase bubble with two races remaining in the 2026 NASCAR Truck Series regular season. Ankrum sits 11th in the standings with an eight-point deficit to the Chase bubble. With Grant Enfinger, Daniel Hemric, and Stewart Friesen in play, the driver of the No. 18 truck has an opportunity.
The Chase bubble is very tight, and Ankrum has to perform at a high level if he wants to be one of the 10 drivers competing for a championship. In fact, Ankrum needs to enter an error-free zone, which could be nerve-wracking due to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing's reliability issues this season.
Ankrum made the Championship 4 during the 2025 NASCAR season, so this isn't what he was expecting going into the 2026 campaign. If Ankrum and
the No. 18 team for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing want to compete for a Truck Series championship, it will take a massive two weekends of racing.
