Riley Herbst climbed from 34th to 25th Sunday at Kansas Speedway, producing a nine-position improvement for 23XI Racing. Herbst began near the rear after the starting lineup was set by NASCAR’s metric.
The No. 35 Toyota stayed clear of the major incidents and gradually moved forward during the race. Herbst ultimately completed 266 laps and finished one circuit behind winner Kyle Larson.
Herbst received 12 points for the 25th-place finish. He is not part of the 16-driver Chase field, leaving his points relevant only to his overall season position. Although 25th is not a headline result, moving forward from 34th and completing nearly the full distance gave the No. 35 team a more productive afternoon than the finishing number alone might suggest.
