Jesse Love arrives at Las Vegas fourth in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase with 2,194 points, sitting 41 points behind Sheldon Creed. The defending series champion remains within reach of the lead but lost valuable ground during a turbulent Bristol finish.
Love led 80 laps at Bristol and battled Justin Allgaier for the victory before their race changed during a Lap 286 restart. Love drove deep into Turn 1 while fighting for the lead and forced Allgaier into the outside wall. Love later became involved in additional contact and finished 17th, one week after winning the Chase race at Gateway.
Love was strong at Las Vegas earlier this season, finishing sixth and scoring 43 points while leading portions of the race. He enters the return trip only
four points behind Carson Kvapil for third but 37 behind second-place Allgaier. Vegas presents an opportunity to quickly reverse the damage from Bristol.
