Landen Lewis’ Kansas race ended after contact with the inside wall late in the final stage. Lewis started 13th in the No. 45 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet and spent the opening portion of the afternoon around the middle of the field.
With 19 laps remaining, Lewis spun and hit the inside wall, bringing out one of the final cautions of the race. The damage ended his afternoon after 114 laps and left him 34th in the finishing order. The result represented a 21-position drop from his starting spot and earned only three championship points.
Lewis remains outside the championship Chase despite appearing in the postseason-era field. He leaves Kansas 22nd in the season standings with 237 points, four ahead of Connor Mosack and 17 ahead of Kris Wright. The
DNF halted a year in which Lewis had already recorded multiple top-five finishes in a limited schedule.
