Connor Zilisch finished 29th Sunday at Kansas Speedway in another Cup Series learning experience for the Trackhouse Racing rookie. Zilisch started 27th in the No. 88 Chevrolet.
The young driver stayed out of the race’s major incidents and completed 266 laps but was unable to make significant progress through the field. He led one lap during a pit cycle before ultimately finishing one circuit behind Kyle Larson.
Zilisch collected eight points for the 29th-place result. He is not among the 16 Chase drivers, so those points will count toward his overall season total rather than the championship race. Kansas supplied another full event of intermediate-track experience, even though Zilisch lost two positions from his starting spot and finished outside
the top 25.
