Chandler Smith will have to find a new home for the 2027 NASCAR season. Last week, Front Row Motorsports announced that Smith will no longer drive the No. 38 truck in the NASCAR Truck Series next year. However, this wasn't Front Row Motorsports' decision. Smith is being linked to a new NASCAR team.
Smith is expected to drive for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR O'Reilly Series during the 2027 season, as reported by FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass. The Front Row Motorsports driver would replace Jesse Love or Austin Hill. Love will join Wood Brothers Racing in the Cup Series, while Richard Childress Racing might promote Hill.
This wouldn't be Smith's first time in the O'Reilly Series. In 2023, Smith drove for Kaulig Racing before moving to Joe Gibbs
Racing the next year. Now, the driver of the No. 38 truck could be going to Richard Childress Racing. It would be a great fit, as Smith's NASCAR journey continues into the 2027 season.
