Ty Majeski suffered one of the most damaging afternoons among the Chase contenders, finishing 29th after a flat tire cost him several laps at Kansas Speedway. Majeski started eighth and initially ran near the front.
The ThorSport Racing driver finished fifth in Stage 1 and sixth in Stage 2, collecting 11 bonus points before trouble arrived. On Lap 89, Majeski was forced to pit under green with a flat tire. The unscheduled stop dropped him multiple laps behind the leaders, and he eventually finished four laps down despite completing the race. Majeski earned 19 points.
Majeski fell three positions to seventh in the Chase standings with 2,109 points. He is now 88 points behind Kaden Honeycutt, one point behind Daniel Hemric and 10 ahead of Ben Rhodes.
His strong stage performance prevented the championship loss from being even larger.
