Ben Rhodes earned a fifth-place finish at Kansas Speedway after using strategy to put himself near the front during the weather-delayed event. Rhodes started 11th in the No. 99 ThorSport Racing Ford and remained competitive throughout the afternoon.
Rhodes earned points in both stages before staying on track during the Stage 2 break. That decision moved him to second behind Grant Enfinger when rain forced NASCAR to stop the race for four hours and 47 minutes. Rhodes lost some ground once racing resumed but stayed inside the lead group and moved into the top five following Layne Riggs’ late trouble. He earned 35 points.
Rhodes improved one position to eighth in the Chase standings with 2,099 points. He is now 98 points behind Kaden Honeycutt, 10
points behind seventh-place Ty Majeski and 20 ahead of ninth-place Grant Enfinger heading to Charlotte.
