Sheldon Creed enters Las Vegas Motor Speedway with control of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase after a nearly perfect opening three races. Creed leads the standings with 2,235 points, holding an 11-point advantage over Justin Allgaier entering Saturday’s Focused Health 302.
The Haas Factory Team driver has finished first, second and first since the Chase began, winning at Darlington and Bristol with a runner-up result at Gateway between them. Creed’s Bristol victory came after a late strategy call gave him fresh tires for overtime, allowing him to charge to the lead and collect 60 points.
Las Vegas offers another favorable opportunity. Creed finished third at the 1.5-mile track in March and scored 45 points. With six races remaining,
another strong Vegas performance could give Creed additional separation from Allgaier while the rest of the Chase field already sits at least 37 points behind.
