JR Motorsports is arguably the best organization in the NASCAR O'Reilly Series, making every seat extremely coveted. As of now, Justin Allgaier will return to JR Motorsports in 2027, but no other seats are confirmed at this time. Now, the NASCAR organization is being linked to a stunning O'Reilly Series driver for the 2027 season.
There has been some industry chatter that Sam Mayer could return to JR Motorsports, as reported by NASCAR insider Joseph Srigley. Mayer, who spent time with JR Motorsports from 2021 to 2024, joined Haas Factory Team starting in 2025. After two seasons, there is now a possibility that he returns to where it all began in the O'Reilly Series.
It is unclear who would be on the way out for Mayer, as Carson Kvapil, Sammy Smith,
and Rajah Caruth have not been announced for any rides in 2027. If Mayer were to leave Haas Factory Team, it would give JR Motorsports another veteran driver in the O'Reilly Series next to Allgaier.
