Blaine Perkins delivered one of the strongest recovery performances in Saturday's The Progress Group 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, finishing seventh after starting 36th. The Jordan Anderson Racing driver gained 29 positions during the 94-lap event, recording an important top-10 finish.
Perkins began the afternoon near the rear of the field but steadily advanced as the drafting lanes shifted. His No. 31 Chevrolet remained competitive during the opening stages, allowing him to move forward while several championship contenders battled for track position. The race featured multiple incidents, including a multicar accident on Lap 57 that collected several drivers running near the front.
Perkins avoided the significant damage that affected those
competitors and continued improving his position during the final stage. As the field approached the overtime finish, Perkins remained among the cars capable of securing a top-10 result. He successfully navigated the closing-lap battle and crossed the finish line seventh, completing all 94 laps.
The performance earned Perkins 30 points and marked another encouraging result for Jordan Anderson Racing. Perkins climbed to 22nd in the overall NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series standings with 459 points. Having missed the championship Chase, he will attempt to continue improving his final standing during the remaining races at Martinsville and Homestead-Miami.
