Riley Herbst is staying with Toyota in the NASCAR Cup Series. Earlier in the month, Legacy Motor Club announced that Herbst will drive the No. 84 car full-time during the 2027 Cup Series season. Herbst, who currently drives full-time with 23XI Racing, will be paired with Jones and Josh Berry who has not been announced.
The current 23XI Racing competitor will bring Monster Energy to Legacy Motor Club as well. Herbst has performed better during the 2026 NASCAR season, sitting 30th in the standings and showing more speed. Toyota's high-level performances have put Herbst higher in the points standings.
Legacy Motor Club owner Jimmie Johnson believes Herbst can be a long-term driver for the organization, so it appears that he will have a long runway.
Herbst has shown that he can race at a high level, and Legacy Motor Club hopes he can put it together in the No. 84 car in 2027 and beyond.
