Anthony Alfredo secured a solid 10th-place finish in Saturday's The Progress Group 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, continuing his competitive performances on NASCAR's drafting tracks. The Viking Motorsports driver qualified seventh and remained among the contenders throughout much of the afternoon.
Alfredo demonstrated strong qualifying speed, placing his No. 96 Chevrolet ahead of several championship contenders. He remained competitive during the opening stage, battling through the drafting lanes while Carson Kvapil and JR Motorsports controlled much of the race. Alfredo's most notable moment came on Lap 21 when he made contact with Parker Retzlaff, sending the No. 99 Chevrolet spinning through the grass.
The incident did not produce a caution,
and Alfredo continued racing while Retzlaff lost significant track position. Alfredo subsequently recovered his position in the leading group and finished eighth in Stage 2, collecting three additional points. He remained competitive during the final stage and ultimately crossed the finish line 10th, completing all 94 laps.
The performance earned Alfredo 29 points and helped him maintain 16th in the overall NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series standings. He now has 684 points, trailing Ryan Sieg by 23 markers. With two races remaining, Alfredo will attempt to close that gap and improve his final championship position.
