Tanner Gray moved forward throughout Saturday’s Race to Stop Suicide 200 and finished eighth at Kansas Speedway. Gray started 16th in the No. 15 TRICON Garage Toyota and stayed within striking distance of the top 10 during the first half.
Gray did not score stage points, but his truck became more competitive as the race progressed. He avoided the multicar incident shortly before the rain delay and kept the truck clean during a final stage that included several flat tires and wall contacts. Gray ultimately gained eight positions from his starting spot and finished less than five seconds behind teammate Kaden Honeycutt. He collected 29 championship points.
Gray remains outside the Chase, but his Kansas performance moved him to 404 season points
and 14th in the standings. He sits eight points behind Justin Haley and one point ahead of Brenden Queen in the battle among non-Chase drivers.
