Layne Riggs is getting close to securing the No. 1 seed in the Chase during the 2026 NASCAR Truck Series season. After winning a dominant race at Lucas Oil Raceway, Riggs has a 100-point lead over Kaden Honeycutt in the championship standings. The driver of the No. 34 truck is currently hitting on all cylinders.
Riggs has been dominant, and winning five races goes a major way in securing the No. 1 seed. NASCAR will no longer reward the top driver in the regular season with a championship or trophy, but they will be the No. 1 seed in the Chase. This will give them a 25-point advantage over second place.
The Front Row Motorsports driver is set to cruise to the top seed in the Chase for the Truck Series. In fact, Riggs' teammate, Chandler Smith,
is having similar success with a fast No. 38 truck. Riggs has been the best driver in the Truck Series this summer, and it could pave the way to a championship in November.
