Grant Enfinger narrowly missed a top-10 finish in Friday's Black's Tire 200 at Martinsville Speedway, bringing his CR7 Motorsports Chevrolet home in 11th place. Enfinger started 19th and gained eight positions during an event featuring numerous accidents and aggressive restarts.
Enfinger initially struggled to establish competitive track position as Layne Riggs dominated the opening stage. His No. 9 Chevrolet finished 19th in Stage 1, missing an opportunity to collect valuable championship points.
The veteran driver attempted to improve his position through pit strategy, but the changing running order continued presenting challenges. Enfinger finished 15th in Stage 2, leaving him without stage points as several championship rivals increased their
totals.
The final stage featured multiple accidents and nine total caution periods throughout the race. Enfinger avoided the significant damage that eliminated numerous competitors and advanced toward the top 10 during the closing laps. He ultimately finished 11th, completing all 200 laps.
The result earned Enfinger 26 points and helped him maintain 10th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase standings with 2,178 points. However, he trails championship leader Kaden Honeycutt by 225 markers, eliminating him from title contention. Enfinger will attempt to finish the season strongly at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
