Leland Honeyman Jr. saw a seventh-place starting position turn into a 30th-place finish Saturday at Kansas Speedway. Honeyman began the race with favorable track position in the No. 62 Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota.
The afternoon deteriorated during Stage 3. Honeyman was involved in the multitrack incident that developed shortly before rain brought the field to pit road, and his truck never regained its early position. He continued after the four-hour, 47-minute stoppage but finished four laps behind Kaden Honeycutt after completing 130 circuits. Honeyman earned seven points.
Honeyman is a part-time Truck Series competitor and is not involved in the Chase. Current standings list him with approximately 41 season points from his limited appearances.
Kansas represented a significant missed opportunity after starting inside the top 10, with the final result 23 positions worse than his starting spot.
