William Sawalich won't be going anywhere for the 2027 NASCAR O'Reilly Series season. On Thursday, Joe Gibbs Racing announced that Sawalich will return to the No. 18 car for the 2027 O'Reilly Series campaign. The driver of the No. 18 car will enter his third season for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2027.
Sawalich won his first career NASCAR event at Rockingham Speedway earlier in 2026. While the driver of the No. 18 car is in danger of missing the Chase, he has run well over the course of the season. Now, Joe Gibbs Racing has rewarded him with another season in elite equipment.
It might be a very important year for Sawalich, who may have an uncertain future if he doesn't further improve. The standard of driving for Joe Gibbs Racing is high, so another season
means he has to elevate his driving even more. For now, Sawalich will focus on making the Chase during the 2026 campaign.
