Justin Allgaier is a NASCAR champion once again. On Saturday night, Allgaier and the No. 7 team for JR Motorsports won the 2026 NASCAR O'Reilly Series championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Despite a seventh-place finish, the driver of the No. 7 car had enough points in the Chase.
Allgaier finished with a 14-point gap over Jesse Love in the Chase for the championship, earning his second career O'Reilly Series title. It wasn't a very strong Chase for Allgaier, but earning the No. 1 seed was ultimately the deciding factor, as he gained 25 extra points over second place.
It was a five-man battle at Homestead, but Brandon Jones' victory helped Allgaier secure the championship. The JR Motorsports driver thought he was going to retire after the 2026
NASCAR season, but the championship won't change his mind to come back. Allgaier will be back for more in 2027, as he chases a third O'Reilly Series championship.
