Sam Mayer has had a disappointing season with Haas Factory Team in the NASCAR O'Reilly Series. Heading into the regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway, Mayer is only 19 points above the Chase bubble. So, what is the latest on the driver of the No. 41 car's plans for the 2027 NASCAR season?
Despite being in the conversations for a NASCAR Cup Series seat in the past, Mayer is expected to remain in the O'Reilly Series, as reported by FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass. It is unclear which organization Mayer will run for in 2027, but JR Motorsports could be a good option if he doesn't return to Haas Factory Team.
The No. 41 team has struggled, and Mayer can't afford to miss the 2026 Chase in the O'Reilly Series. Mayer has been at the NASCAR
level too long to not be a part of the 12-driver Chase. Therefore, Mayer could be competing for his future, as he nees more consistnetncy to jump to the NASCAR Cup Series in the future.
