Will Rodgers completed Saturday's The Progress Group 250 at Talladega Superspeedway with a 25th-place finish after starting 30th. The driver of the No. 53 Chevrolet gained five positions during the afternoon and remained on the lead lap throughout the event.
Rodgers entered the race hoping to capitalize on the unpredictable nature of superspeedway competition. The opening stages featured aggressive drafting and changing running orders as JR Motorsports established control of the leading lanes. Rodgers initially remained deeper in the field but continued battling for position as the race progressed.
His Chevrolet avoided the major problems that disrupted several championship contenders during the afternoon. The first significant accident occurred
on Lap 57 when contact involving Harrison Burton and Taylor Gray triggered a multicar incident. Rodgers remained in competition and continued racing as the field prepared for the closing stages.
Another caution later interrupted the event, creating opportunities for competitors running outside the top 20 to gain positions. Rodgers ultimately finished 25th, completing all 94 laps and earning 12 points. Although he was unable to secure a top-20 result, Rodgers successfully completed the demanding race and improved upon his qualifying position.
The performance provided another opportunity to gain experience against NASCAR's established O'Reilly Auto Parts Series competitors.
