Kaden Honeycutt's dream of being the No. 1 seed for the Chase during the 2026 NASCAR Truck Series season is starting to slip away. Following the Truck Series race at Lucas Oil, Honeycutt sits 100 points behind Layne Riggs with two races remaining until the Chase in 2026.

It has effectively taken the TRICON Garage driver out of the mix to win and earn the No. 1 seed in the Chase. This means Honeycutt would have a 25-point deficit to Riggs to begin the seven-race Chase this season. This also assumes that Honeycutt can hold off Chandler Smith in the coming weeks.

The driver of the No. 11 truck hasn't been as strong in the late months of summer, allowing Riggs to pull away with the No. 1 seed. NASCAR will no longer name a regular season champion,

so a trophy is not on the line. However, Honeycutt seems pretty unlikely to claim the top seed in 2026.
