Grant Enfinger experienced a dramatic reversal at Kansas Speedway, going from the race leader during the rain delay to a 31st-place finish. Enfinger started 10th and used strategy to take control after Stage 2.
Enfinger stayed on track while several leaders pitted, putting the No. 9 Chevrolet first when rain halted the race. Once racing resumed, Kaden Honeycutt quickly retook the lead. Enfinger later received a speeding penalty, hit the wall and suffered a flat tire. NASCAR then held him on pit road for two laps after determining he intentionally stopped to trigger a caution.
The sequence left Enfinger with only seven race points. He dropped to ninth in the Chase with 2,079 points, now 118 behind Honeycutt. Enfinger entered Kansas much closer
to the front of the title picture, making Saturday one of the most damaging championship races of his season.
