Joey Logano is back in victory lane. On Saturday night, Logano and the No. 22 team for Team Penske won the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway, earning their second victory of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. The driver of the No. 22 car held off a hard-charging Chase Briscoe in the final laps.
Following the event, Logano spoke about his major NASCAR win at Richmond. As Logano said, don't let the No. 22 Penske team get hot.
"Don’t let the boys get hot," Logano said. "We’re pretty strong right now [smiling]. Awesome to see the speed in the No. 22 again. Gosh, it was a great car. We’ve had a great car here the last five races. We haven’t been able to capitalize on the win. Been so close. Sweet redemption today...We got a strong team, no doubt. Obviously
Paul made some great calls there. The No. 19 was better than us that last run. I was trying to just manage the tires, able to get that gap. Yeah, kind of a fun back-and-forth battle. Fun strategy with different strategies out there. Typical Richmond race."
Logano has flexed his muscles over the last month, as he now sits ninth in the points standings. "Even-year Logano" is a real thing with the No. 22 team surging before the Chase. There isn't a more dangerous team in NASCAR than Logano's No. 22 bunch, and they are starting to get hot when it matters the most.
