Daniel Suárez finished 14th Sunday at Kansas Speedway after an uneven afternoon for the No. 7 Spire Motorsports team. Suárez started 14th but slid backward during the opening stage and was running 23rd at the first stage break.
The Chevrolet improved as the race progressed, allowing Suárez to recover the positions he had lost and return to his original starting spot. He avoided the multicar crash involving teammate Carson Hocevar and completed all 267 laps on the lead lap.
Suárez scored 23 points but remains last among the 16 Chase contenders. He leaves Kansas with 2,095 points, 187 behind Kyle Larson. With only six races remaining, Suárez faces the largest championship deficit in the field and will likely need multiple exceptional performances
to erase the gap created through the first four Chase events.
