Ty Majeski continued his strong late-season performances Friday, finishing fourth in the Black's Tire 200 at Martinsville Speedway. The ThorSport Racing driver started sixth and remained competitive throughout the 200-lap event, securing another top-five result despite falling short of Victory Lane.
Majeski immediately established himself among the leading contenders, running inside the top five while Layne Riggs controlled the opening stage. His No. 88 Ford finished fifth in Stage 1, collecting six championship points.
The Wisconsin native maintained that position throughout Stage 2, adding another six points while battling Chandler Smith, Ben Rhodes and Tristan McKee near the front. His consistent performance provided an opportunity to challenge
for the victory during the final stage.
Majeski remained among the leaders as multiple cautions reshuffled the field. However, Chandler Smith capitalized on the final restart and pulled away, leaving Majeski fourth behind Smith, Rhodes and Riggs.
The result earned Majeski 45 points and dropped him one position to fourth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship standings with 2,275 points. However, he trails leader Kaden Honeycutt by 128 markers, mathematically eliminating him from title contention. Majeski will look to secure his first victory of the season at Homestead-Miami.
