Jeb Burton delivered an impressive recovery in Saturday's The Progress Group 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, finishing 11th after starting 32nd. The Jordan Anderson Racing driver gained 21 positions during an afternoon filled with aggressive drafting and several significant incidents.
Burton initially faced the challenge of advancing through a competitive field as JR Motorsports established control of the leading drafting lanes. His No. 27 Chevrolet steadily improved its position throughout the opening stages, allowing Burton to remain within striking distance of the leaders.
The first major incident occurred on Lap 57 when Harrison Burton and Taylor Gray made contact, triggering an accident involving several championship contenders. Jeb Burton avoided
significant trouble and continued battling through the field. His Chevrolet became particularly competitive during the final stage, when he helped organize the inside drafting lane against the dominant outside group.
Burton remained among the contenders as the race approached its overtime finish, ultimately crossing the line 11th. The result earned him 26 points and represented a gain of 21 positions from his qualifying effort. Burton remains 21st in the overall NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series standings with 503 points.
He will attempt to build on his Talladega performance during the remaining races at Martinsville and Homestead-Miami.
