Nick Leitz produced one of the biggest drives through the field at Kansas Speedway, climbing from 26th to seventh in Saturday’s Truck Series race. Leitz spent the opening portion outside the spotlight while Kaden Honeycutt controlled the event.
The No. 1 TRICON Garage Toyota steadily gained positions as the race developed. Leitz avoided the Stage 3 multitruck crash, survived the nearly five-hour rain delay and stayed clear of the tire failures that reshuffled the order late. By the checkered flag, he had gained 19 positions and finished on the lead lap, giving TRICON three trucks inside the top seven. Leitz earned 30 points.
Leitz is not one of the 10 drivers competing for the championship, but Kansas significantly improved his season total. He
leaves the race with 118 points and sits around 30th in the overall standings after producing his strongest points result of the season.
