Austin Dillon finished 21st Sunday at Kansas Speedway after a quiet afternoon for Richard Childress Racing. Dillon started 19th and remained around the middle of the field throughout much of the race.
The No. 3 Chevrolet avoided both Noah Gragson’s engine-related caution and the multicar restart accident that damaged several competitors. Dillon eventually fell one lap behind Kyle Larson and completed 266 of the scheduled 267 laps.
Dillon earned 16 points for the 21st-place result. He did not qualify for the Chase, so his Kansas total does not play a role in deciding the 2026 Cup Series champion. The result was essentially representative of his afternoon: Dillon started near 20th, raced around that position and ultimately finished two spots lower
without encountering any major mechanical or crash-related issue.
