Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished 32nd Sunday at Kansas Speedway, one position worse than his 31st-place starting spot. The Hyak Motorsports driver remained near the rear throughout most of the afternoon.
Stenhouse stayed out of the major incidents and made it to the checkered flag, but the No. 47 Chevrolet never gained meaningful track position. He completed 266 laps and finished one lap behind winner Kyle Larson.
The result gave Stenhouse five points. He is not competing in the Chase, leaving the Kansas points applicable only to his overall season total. Unlike several drivers who finished behind him, Stenhouse did not experience a major mechanical problem or crash; the No. 47 simply lacked the speed necessary to move out of the lower portion of the field.
