Kaden Honeycutt took control of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase with a dominant victory in Saturday’s Race to Stop Suicide 200 at Kansas Speedway. Starting fourth, Honeycutt needed only one lap to move his No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota into the lead and controlled nearly everything that followed.
Honeycutt swept both stages and led 111 of 134 laps despite a four-hour, 47-minute rain delay interrupting the event. Layne Riggs briefly used a two-tire strategy to take the lead late, but Honeycutt’s four fresh tires allowed him to reclaim the position with 12 laps remaining. He beat Christian Eckes by 1.358 seconds and scored 75 of a possible 76 points.
Honeycutt leaves Kansas first in the Chase with 2,197 points. He entered the race three points behind
Riggs but now holds a 37-point championship advantage with five races remaining.
