The racing world is set to stop for one weekend. In the first week of August, NASCAR, the NTT IndyCar Series, and Formula 1 will all have an off-weekend, leaving no racing from the "Big 3" of motorsports. This leaves race fans without any on-track action from the three most popular racing series in North America.
NASCAR will return to race at Iowa Speedway on August 8 for the O'Reilly Series event, while the Cup Series competes the next day. Meanwhile, IndyCar won't race until the Grand Prix of Portland on August 9. Finally, Formula 1 just started its summer break, meaning the sport isn't coming back until the Netherlands on August 23.
Due to the off weekends, there will not be a race from the "Big 3" for 13 days until the O'Reilly Series competes
at Iowa. All three racing series are set to push hard for the remainder of the season, especially Formula 1 after adding Malaysia to the schedule. For now, the racing world will take a breather, as everyone enjoys a mini-summer break.
