There's no denying that Michael Jordan, who helped UNC win the 1982 National Championship and went a perfect 6-for-6 in NBA Finals tries, is the basketball GOAT.
Jordan's long list of accolades started in 1982, when he won ACC Rookie of the Year en route to a National Championship. After six Finals MVP honors, a Defensive Player of the Year honor and 14 All-Star selections amongst many other accomplishments, Jordan earned himself a Hall of Fame career.
On Monday, Jordan made arguably the greatest move of his post-playing career, donating $10 million to North Carolina's School of Social Work.
Jordan's donation, the largest in the School of Social Work's history, will rename the Global Social Development Innovations Center after his mother. The Jordan Family
Scholars program will also be established.
"My mother has always believed in the power of helping children, families and communities," Jordan said via GoHeels.com "She has spent her life putting that belief into action. North Carolina will always be home. I'm proud to support the social workers who are on the ground each and every day helping people navigate challenges, find opportunities and build stronger communities."

Jordan averaged just over 30 points per game across his 15 NBA seasons, even with a brief hiatus to try Minor League Baseball. Just a few seasons after retirement, Jordan purchased the Charlotte Hornets, who failed to consistently win despite their owner's extensive success as a player.
Now an owner of NASCAR team 23XI racing, Jordan is enjoying the retired life. Expect to see the GOAT in Chapel Hill several times this coming basketball season, with the Tar Heels' home opener set for Monday, November 2 vs. Western Carolina.
