Preparation for the upcoming 2026-27 college basketball season has begun for the North Carolina Tar Heels and Michael Malone. UNC has officially started practice this week and will also meet the media for the first time.
As we prepare for the first year under Michael Malone, fans won't have to wait long to get a look.
North Carolina will have three exhibition games this preseason and it's a pretty good slate. They will face off against USC in Greensboro, Indiana in Indianapolis and then Charlotte in Chapel Hill. The good news is that all three of the exhibition games will be broadcast on TV.
On Thursday afternoon, the program announced broadcast information:
- October 9th vs.USC at 7 p.m. on ACC Network.
- October 18th at Indiana at 5 p.m. with broadcast TBD
- October 27th vs. Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. streaming on ACC Network Extra
With preseason exhibition games now becoming more popular, it's good to see programs continue
to schedule against big programs. Televising them is also a big plus for the fans who can't make the games.
Last season, we saw UNC travel to BYU to face off against the Cougars, and it showcased top picks AJ Dybantsa and Caleb Wilson.
