Nasir Anderson will be visiting Chapel Hill earlier than originally planned. The Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Prolific Prep guard is set to start an official visit to UNC on Wednesday (Sept. 23), according to a report from Sherrell McMillan of Inside Carolina on Tuesday
The schedule change came after Anderson called off his planned visit to Southern Cal for this week. He and his family collaborated with associate head coach Chuck Martin to move up the trip to Carolina. Anderson is considered to be a top 10 overall recruit and the No. 4 point guard nationally.
This visit makes him the second class of 2027 lead guard to tour UNC this autumn, following closely on the heels of top-ranked lead guard Beckham Black. Standing 6-foot-4, the Savannah, Ga. native
underwent hip surgery in June. While the injury cut his summer and AAU campaign short, he is expected to be fully ready for the upcoming season. Before transferring to Prolific Prep last year, Anderson played two seasons at Norcross (Ga.) High School.
Prolific Prep has drawn frequent attention from Michael Malone since the recruiting window opened on Sept. 9. Malone visited the school on Sept. 10 to evaluate Anderson along with 2027 UNC prospect Lewis Uwvo, returning for another visit on Sept. 17.
Back in August, Anderson unveiled his top 10 list, featuring Kentucky, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, Providence, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia, UConn, and USC. Having completed official visits to Providence and Virginia, he has upcoming trips scheduled to Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia in October.
